Abstract:

Background: Anxiety is a special kind of anxiety that athletes competing in major competitions threshold to do so. The physical dimensions of anxiety symptoms such as tremor, palpitations, shortness of breath and symptoms such as cognitive symptoms include fear of failure and fear of poor performance, will occur. One of the psychological skills that are thought to be effective in reducing and controlling athletes' competitive anxiety, RELAXATION techniques are. It generally consists of two methods based on RELAXATION and cognitive. In this way, PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION, has been used. Methods: This study consisted of 30 players, club Zob Ahan, randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. First of all players by anxiety questionnaires-Competitive CSAI-2 pre-test was performed. The players were in the experimental group received 20 sessions of RELAXATION, then step test was performed.Findings: The results were statistically analyzed using one-way ANOVA with post hoc test, the paired t test, t- test for independent groups, respectively (P=0.05), showed a PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION rate reduce anxiety 's physical, cognitive anxiety brought down close to the border between the players resting heart rate is significantly reduced. Conclusion: The results showed that the goalkeepers and defenders, midfielders had significantly more cognitive anxiety but is not significant in comparison to the quarterback. have. And the native players one of the three subscales of cognitive anxiety, somatic anxiety and self-esteem were not significantly different.

Abstract:

Purpose: This study was designed to compare the effects of two different RELAXATION techniques, namely PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION (PMR) and autogenic RELAXATION (AGR) on moods of young soccer players. Methods: Sixteen adolescent athletes (mean age: 14.1±1.3) received either PMR or AGR training. Using Profile of Mood States-Adolescents, their mood states were measured one week before RELAXATION training, before the first RELAXATION session, and after the twelfth RELAXATION session. Results: Mixed ANOVA revealed no significant interaction effects and no significant main effects in any of the subscales. However, significant main effects for testing sessions were found for confusion, depression, fatigue, and tension subscales. Post hoc tests revealed post-intervention reductions in the confusion, depression, fatigue, and tension subscale scores. Conclusions: These two RELAXATION techniques induce equivalent mood responses and may be used to regulate young soccer players’ mood states.

Background: Pregnancy may be accompanied by serious physiological and psychological changes as it is a stressful period in a woman’s life. So, this study was conducted to determine the effect of PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION on pregnant women’s general health.Materials and Methods: In this clinical trial, 60 primigravida women admitted to the prenatal clinic of selected hospitals in Iran constituted the study population. Using purposive sampling method, the level of general health of the women was measured with General Health Questionnaire‑28 (GHQ‑28). Then, the samples were randomly divided into control and experimental groups. Three 1.5–2 h RELAXATION training sessions were held for the experimental group. After 8 weeks, the level of general health of both groups was measured again. Finally, the collected data were analyzed using Chi‑square and pairedt ‑test (P<0.05).Results: Total mean score of general health of the experimental group and the control group before the intervention was 35.83 (6.92) and 29.46 (8.3), respectively, and after the intervention, the respective scores were 20.2 (5.61) and 27.85 (8.24). Although after the intervention both groups showed an increased level of general health, the difference in general health between before and after intervention was significant in the experimental group (P<0.001). Furthermore, comparison of variations in mean scores of general health level before and after intervention in the two groups showed a significant difference (P<0.001).Conclusions: Given that the results showed the effectiveness of PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION on pregnant women’s general health, the prenatal clinics can include a training program for PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION in the routine training programs for pregnant women.

Abstract: Labor pain is a cause of stress and suffering; for which many women seek methods to relieve this pain. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of RELAXATION techniques on pain relief during labor. This study was carried out on 62 pregnant women referred to Fatemieh hospital (Hamadan, Iran) during their labor. They were selected using convenience sampling and were divided randomly in two groups. The first group (control) received routine way of ward during their labor and the second group (test) went through the RELAXATION technique after training. The intensity of pain was determined using a standard pain number rating scale, and the behavioral reactions were recorded using an observational checklist. The statistical analysis of data showed significant difference in intensity of pain between the two groups (P= 0.0001). Also there was a significant difference in behavioral reactions between the two groups (P<0.0001). Since the RELAXATION technique is easy to perform and without any risk and also has low expenses it is recommended for pain relief during labor

Introduction: Happiness, is an evaluation of the individual and his life work and issues such as life satisfaction, excitement and positive mood, lack of depression and anxiety are included. A person who feels more happiness, peace and security, makes life better and finally there is hunky-dory. The purpose of this study was the effect of PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION on nursing students' happiness. Methods: This research is a Single blind clinical trial conducted on 60 of Second and third year nursing students of Arak University of medical sciences. Participants were randomly allocated into intervention and control groups. Happiness levels in both groups are measured using the Oxford Happiness questionnaire. Then the experimental group is trained PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION. Intervention group were applying PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION once a day for 4 weeks. After a month, the happiness questionnaire in two groups was filled out. Data using SPSS software and chi-square tests, t-test and t-test were analyzed. Results: The results showed that the happiness of the students before and after the RELAXATION in intervention group, was significant differences (p<0.05). Also after the MUSCLE RELAXATION in both intervention and control groups was significantly different (p<0.05(.Conclusion: RELAXATION effects on students' happiness. So, it is recommended that PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION should be used by the nursing students.

Abstract:

Introduction: Hypertension is a common disorder in pregnancy. Although this disorder is accompanied by many difficulties in pregnancy, no effective therapy has still been found to treat it. One of the main methods in the treatment of hypertension is stress reducing programs such as RELAXATION and Guided Imagery. This study is aimed to evaluate the effects of PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION and guided imagery on the gestational hypertension. Methods: The present study is a randomized clinical trial in gestational hypertension patients undergoing in Kosar hospital, Qazvin, Iran.80 patients were selected after obtaining the informed consent by convenience method and randomly allocated in intervention and control groups. The intervention group received physical and mental RELAXATION for eight weeks, twice a week. Blood pressures were measured before and after the RELAXATION sessions for the intervention group and the control group blood pressure were measured twice a week after 15-minute rest. Data were collected by a check list and were analyzed by SPSS v20. Statistical testes such as T-test, chi squares, Mann–Whitney and repeated measure were used for analysis. Results: The mean age of participants was 31.21±7.25 years. The results indicated that the physical and mental RELAXATION significantly decreased the systolic and diastolic (131.00±2.02, 80.37±1.37 mmhg) blood pressure in the intervention group compared by the control group (150.08±0.67, 97.02±0.75 mmhg) (p=0.000).Conclusion: According to the results, physical and mental RELAXATION is effective on the decrease of the systolic and diastolic blood pressure during pregnancy and it is suggested as a treatment for gestational hypertension.
